2020 Pobladores Awards Gala & Fundraiser

LA Plaza is proud to present our first Virtual Pobladores Award Gala and Silent Auction! The Pobladores Award recognizes individuals, who much like the original pobladores settlers from Mexico, have blazed a trail that continues to endure, inspire and enrich our community. This year we pay tribute to Cástulo de la Rocha, President and CEO of AltaMed Health Services Corporation and noted patron of Chicano art, and Los Lobos, Chicano Rock Legends.

Our Annual Gala serves as LA Plaza's primary fundraising event and makes our many educational workshops, exhibitions and public programming initiatives possible. Your purchase supports Latinx history, art, and culture in Los Angeles. Half of all proceeds will be directed to the Eastside Arts Initiative COVID-19 Artists Emergency Relief Fund.

About LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes

Founded in 2011, LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes (LA Plaza) is a Los Angeles County Museum and cultural center that is mission-directed to honor the enduring and evolving history, art, and culture of Mexicans, Mexican-Americans, and all Latinx communities in Los Angeles. LA Plaza curates and displays a robust rotating collection of compelling exhibits that share the stories and contributions of the Latinx community in Los Angeles. We fulfill our mission through cultural and art exhibitions, educational initiatives, performances, and a wide range of public programming year-round. LA Plaza is an admission-free, Smithsonian-affiliated museum, and most programs are offered to the public free of charge.
