Washington County Kids supports out of school time (OST) programs by improving how they serve youth who need them and increasing the number of children they are able to serve. Funds are needed to support coordination and training activities and to inform the public about the need to increase access.

Washington County Kids (WCK)'s mission is to increase access to quality out of school time (OST) programs that equip Washington County children for success. To achieve a world where all children are given the opportunity to reach their full potential, WCK fills an important need in the county by serving as the only county-wide coordinator serving afterschool and summer OST programs and is also a liaison to the county’s early learning hub. In this role, WCK 1) coordinates communication among OST programs and school districts, parents, and the general public, 2) serves as a centralized resource for OST providers, 3) expands awareness of the need for and value of OST programs, and 4) encourages the use of best practices. While WCK supports all quality OST programs, most of which are nonprofit, it intentionally focuses on increasing access for underserved populations with limited financial resources.
