Type 1 Diabetes Optimist Club of Colorado

Our goal in holding this auction is two fold. First, we are trying to raise an additional $3,250 to send 10 kids to Camp Colorado. Camp Colorado is a one week camp near Colorado Springs held by the American Diabetes Association (ADA). This camp is exclusively for children with type 1 diabetes (T1D). In 2014, the Type 1 Diabetes Optimist Club (T1DOC) raised enough money to send 17 kids to camp. This year our goal is to provide scholarships for 25 kids. So far we we have raised enough money for 15 scholarships. Through this auction, one of our goals is to raise enough funds to send 10 more kids to camp. Our second goal of this auction is to make a donation directly to JDRF. JDRF is the leading global organization funding T1D research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, policy influence, and a working plan to better treat, prevent, and eventually cure T1D.

As the largest charitable supporter of T1D research, JDRF is currently sponsoring more than $568 million in scientific research in 17 countries.
