About Our Auction

Welcome to the online auction featuring Brukner Nature Center's newest art gallery exhibit, Quilts by Lisa Hoblit. Lisa is a self-taught textile artist who has been transforming fabric into quilts for more than twenty-five years. Using traditional quilting practices as a foundation upon which to build, she has been expanding her artistic vision and exploring more intuitive, organic shapes as a means of self-expression.

Reusing, repurposing, and recycling fabric remains a key interest. Much as previous generations of practical quilters did, Lisa will salvage fabric from discarded cotton button-down shirts, damaged cotton bed sheets, discontinued upholstery samples, and leftover scraps from previous projects. While the use of scavenged materials is challenging, it satisfies a need to use available supplies in a productive, creative, and meaningful way.

To view quilts in person or to shop additional bed-sized quilts, please call 937-698-6493 to set up an appointment.

All proceeds will support our innovative educational programs, wildlife ambassadors and wildlife rehabilitation unit. Thank you so much for your support and for your commitment to wildlife and wild places!
