Marcus Band 2024 Spring Auction

All proceeds from this Auction will go to support all 230+ students in the Marcus Band Organization. As our band program grows, so does our need to improve equipment, enhance instructional opportunities, to support the kids competing in local and state UIL competitions. BOA competitions include statewide venues and a national event in Indianapolis, IN.

The Marcus Band boasts a storied history of being one of the top performers both locally and nationally. Their outstanding performances have earned them five consecutive University Interscholastic League (UIL) Texas State Marching Band Championships in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2014 (the state finals are held biennially). Recently, the Marcus Band achieved Silver Medalist status in 2023 and Bronze Medalist status in the 2021 UIL Texas State Marching Competition. They are also fiercely competitive in Bands of America (BOA) Competitions, with a tradition of traveling to the Grand National Championships in Indianapolis every four years. Most recently, at the 2022 BOA Grand National Championships, the Marcus Band placed sixth out of more than 90 participating bands. Throughout their history, the Marcus Band has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards. In 2013, the Marcus Band placed fifth in the Bands of America Grand Nationals and was honored with the coveted Esprit de Corps award. This award is bestowed on the group that exhibits the most pride, spirit, enthusiasm, friendliness, and unity of purpose for the activity of marching bands in the country. In 2009, they placed fourth and were awarded the outstanding music caption at the Grand Nationals. The Marcus Band's concert ensembles have received exclusively superior division ratings at the UIL Concert & Sight Reading contests, and have been lauded as "Best in Class" at various regional concert festivals. The Marcus Wind Symphony has been named a Texas Music Education Association (TMEA) 6A Honor Band Finalist from 2006 to 2014. The Marcus High School music program was also honored in 2013 when it was selected as one of only 10 schools nationwide to receive a GRAMMY Signature School Award. This award recognizes high school music programs that make an exceptional commitment to music education despite budget cuts and other challenges.
