Purses & Promises

Purses and Promises is a fundraiser for the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in Terrebonne Parish. Through this program, registered children receive an age-appropriate book every month until their fifth birthday at NO COST to their families. These books increase a child's learning capacity, promote literacy and social skills, and most importantly - prepares them for Kindergarten.

With more than 3,300+ children currently enrolled, TFAE funds this program at the cost of approximately $80,000 a year. Your purchase of a Purses & Promises ticket and of purses in this auction will directly sponsor local children in the Imagination Library!

TFAE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to assist in fundamentally improving education in our community. Since our inception, TFAE has awarded more than $1,300,000 grant dollars to Terrebonne Parish public school teachers.

In 2012, TFAE expanded our efforts in promoting education and literacy in our community by implementing the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. This program provides one age-appropriate book per month to Terrebonne Parish children until their fifth birthday. TFAE has funded more than 275,000 books to Terrebonne Parish children!
