Moondance: Leftovers and Left-Behinds!

YRCS was the United States’s first, Waldorf inspired public charter school. Our unique distinction and standards of excellence allow us to enjoy high visibility throughout our community and even the world! Our art and music infused curriculum focuses on nurturing the child in body, mind, and spirit, while educating the head, heart, and hands. Wholefoods nutrition and onsite food cultivation are woven throughout our programs. We are also proud to offer an alternative Farm Program that meets at an organic farm four days a week to learn traditional Waldorf school subjects alongside biodynamic farming methods.

Our school’s families have chosen our school as it honors our visceral and aesthetic connection to the natural world. This approach to education, while deeply enriching for children, parents, and community, is costly. As we are a tuition free public school, we must rely on the generosity of our community to help support our programs. Through our Moondance Community Auction, we aim to raise $40,000 to benefit YRCS.

Yuba River Charter School is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) not for profit, public benefit corporation governed by our Charter Council.

The YRCS Educational Foundation (YRCSEF) was established in 1998 as a charitable non-profit organization that supports the Yuba River Charter School. Money raised by the YRCSEF supports the Yuba River Charter School’s needs as identified by the YRCS Board of Directors.
