HELP US REBUILD THE FIVE MILE LIGHTHOUSE!
On July 23, 2018, the 162 year-old Five Mile Light (Cole Shoal Lighthouse) was struck by lightning and burned down. The lighthouse was a one of a kind historic treasure on the Canadian side of the St. Lawrence, the last of 9 erected between Kingston and Prescott in the mid 1800's. Its loss was nothing short of a tragedy.
Canadians, Americans, and Freightliners from all over the world have had the pleasure of passing this celebrated lighthouse during their St. Lawrence River travels. In fact, in the 1800’s, this lighthouse was a major factor in river transport, saving many ships and vessels from the luring shoals around the Five Mile Light area.
We are asking for your support to help us rebuild the Five Mile Light. Be part of history in replacing this iconic, historic, landmark five miles west of Brockville, Ontario! Our goal is to raise $200,000.00 to rebuild the structure with a small maintenance fund for future maintenance.
