IOOV Presents: Jazz in July 2022

We're heading into another year of advancing justice and the full inclusion of our most marginalized communities! Join us.

All proceeds raised will go directly towards improving the quality of life for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender People of Color communities in the Capital Region of Upstate New York.

Our mission is to work for and ensure the physical, mental, spiritual, political, cultural and economic survival and growth of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people of color communities.

We seek to develop the leadership and strengthen the voices of LGBT POC in order to increase our capacity for combating oppression and marginalization.

In Our Own Voices grew from the efforts of three social action groups: the Feminist Action Network (FAN), Sisters and Brothers in the Life (SABIL), and the Gay Men of Color Alliance (GMOCA). Later, they were joined by the Social Justice Center. Initially, these organizations came together to advocate for the inclusion of LGBT people of color in the agendas of civil rights and human rights movements. Today, In Our Own Voices is an autonomous organization dedicated to serving and empowering our community.

This year's summer fundraising gala by In Our Own Voices, Inc. will be held on Saturday, July 23, 5pm - 8pm at the Albany Capital Center.
