About Our Auction
CCMA Award Winning country artist Jason Blaine has 4 children of his own and wanted the opportunity to give back to a cause that is near and dear to him, while also showing his children the importance of helping those less fortunate. With the help of the Canadian country music community, Jason Blaine has coordinated a charity auction to raise money for MusiCounts.
Funds from this auction will be put toward the MusiCounts Band Aid Program, which puts musical instruments into schools across Canada. This means that more instruments will be put into the hands of the kids who need them most. In addition, the MusiCounts TD Community Music Program provides musical instruments and equipment to community centres, after-school programs and other community non-profit organizations who need instruments to ensure their music programs' sustained growth.
About MusiCounts
MusiCounts is Canada’s music education charity, and celebrates musical excellence by putting instruments into the hands of kids who need them the most. MusiCounts has made it their mission to ensure that all children and youth in Canada have access to music education.
Why MusiCounts?
Music education in Canada is endangered and students are missing out on the value of learning and creating music. Not only does music education make students smarter and help develop positive self-esteem and communication skills, but also, music has a strong emotional impact on youth - it gives kids a way to sort out their emotions and express their feelings. Over the last 20 years, it is estimated that well over 800,000 children have known the joy of music as a result of one of MusiCounts' programs or donations.
