Mamapalooza 2019 Silent Auction

Annually, on Mother’s Day weekend, My Red Tent holds a family-friendly event in Grapevine, Texas that funds our outreach efforts for the year. Our theme this year is ‘Mamapalooza’ and will be held on Saturday May 11, 2019 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Members of the community will gather for a fun-filled morning of activities for children and adults alike, while further increasing local awareness and understanding of women who suffer with this type of depression and anxiety. All monies donated will allow My Red Tent to further our mission of supplying mothers with resources to help their recovery and healing regardless of their ability to pay, both locally and nationwide.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving low to moderate income-level women in the context of pregnancy, pregnancy loss, or in the first year postpartum who are struggling with depression and anxiety, the most common complications of pregnancy and childbirth. Estimates are that around 10-12% of women suffer, yet most hide or downplay their symptoms because of stigma and poor access to care. In the absence of competent care, these mental illnesses have a devastating impact on the affected women, as well as their partners, children, extended families, and society at large. Our mission is to not only address the financial and stigmatizing barriers to care, but also to reduce the shame that women feel when experiencing these symptoms by heightening public awareness of maternal mental health.

Through our website (www.myredtent.org), we link generous clinicians over the U.S. with underserved women who need mental health assessment and referral resources. Currently, we have 79 clinicians located in 27 states donating free visits to underserved women who are pregnant, postpartum, or managing the loss of a pregnancy. It is our goal to have all 50 states represented by the end of 2019. These free visits provide such women hope and healing while struggling at the most vulnerable time of their lives.
