As well as the online auction, we have a live exhibit accompanying it that will be on view beginning Thursday, November 21st at 12pm until Saturday, November 30th at 8pm. We will be celebrating with an opening reception on Thursday, the 21st, from 6-9pm, and a closing reception on the 30th from 6-9pm. To reach us, please email mothbellygallery@gmail.com
This year our auction is being ran through our LLC, and any sales or donations through 32auctions.com are not considered tax deductible. However, if you would like to make a tax deductible donation through our 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor Intersection For The Arts, please visit our fundraising site (supportmothbelly.org) for more information or reach out to us directly.
And while straight donations are gladly accepted through the 32auctions site, we request that if anybody wants to directly donate to us, they also do it via our fundraising site where we have a variety of options to donate including Flipcause, Venmo, Patreon, and more.
Lastly, all items won in the auction will be available for pick-up as soon as they have been paid for. We will invoice all winning bidders shortly after the auction has closed. We are also happy to arrange both domestic and international shipping, but please bear in mind that all shipping costs will be arranged and billed separately after the item has been won and paid for.
About Moth Belly Gallery
Moth Belly is an artist owned and operated gallery, community event space, and arts media platform based in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco. Started by local artists John Vochatzer and KT Seibert, it was founded in the fall of 2020 and has been open to the public with monthly exhibits and more since October of 2021. As an ever-growing platform, we are constantly striving to build and develop our organization in new directions, and have been gradually working to include a variety of different regularly occurring events such as workshops, drawing nights, and open mics, all ages concerts, and more into our programming.
As an online platform we are dedicated to the exploration, documentation, and promotion of what we find to be the most interesting currents in contemporary art in San Francisco, the greater Bay Area, and the world at large. Our “Moth Belly Media” branch hosts our journalistic endeavors which began with the aim of chronicling the creative landscape of post-pandemic San Francisco. It has since grown into an all encompassing weblog focused on providing voice and exposure to artists, collectors, and creators of all varieties. We also publish a magazine of which we have now released three volumes and have embarked on a series of video interviews highlighting Bay Area creators and their stories.
With our exhibits we put a strong focus on emerging and underexposed artists, prioritizing San Francisco and Bay Area locals. We have also been organizing and managing the First Thursday Art Walks of the Tenderloin/Lower Polk neighborhoods in San Francisco since 2021, and are actively engaged in connecting artists with exhibit opportunities at other local venues.
Lastly, we embrace DIY ethics of accessibility, sustainability, and anti-consumerism. Our working goal is to build a viable atmosphere where nobody is turned away and all are encouraged to participate and develop their creative talents.
