Small Quilt Auction
The current pandemic has forced us to postpone the much loved and anticipated traditional New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale (NHMRS).
The quilt auction has always been a highlight of the sale and we’re so glad we can continue this tradition online in support of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC).
In addition to this small quilt silent online auction, NHMRS is holding a live online auction featuring a curated collection of quilts with a variety of quilting techniques, types, sizes and from an assortment of quilters. More info is available at https://nhmrs.com/.
About New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale
The New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale (NHMRS) traditionally takes place every year on the last Friday and Saturday of May. Each year, visitors come to taste delicious teaballs, springrolls, barbecued chicken, and other cultural foods. They also admire intricate crafts, are entertained with music and games and purchase beautiful handmade quilts. The quilt auction has always been a highlight of the sale.
All funds raised at NHMRS support Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). Since 1920, MCC has worked with the church, partner organizations and supporters to share God’s love by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice. They started by helping families affected by war and famine in southern Russia (present-day Ukraine) and now work in more than 50 countries around the world! Go to https://mcccanada.ca/ for more information about MCC.
