The VYOA brings music to the lives of Vermont's children through our outstanding orchestras and choruses, school tours around the state, and after-school programs in underserved communities. Our vision is to inspire every child to fill their world with music! Our ensembles, outreach, and financial aid program all rely on donors like you to make these opportunities possible for our region's young people. Thank you for being a part of our Online Auction!

Now celebrating our 60th season, the VYOA is a leader in shaping our region’s young musicians. Nearly 300 musicians in grades 1 – 12 represent 66 elementary, middle, and high schools, and hail from 39 towns from across Vermont and neighboring states. In addition to two symphony orchestras, one string orchestra, jazz program, and training programs for middle school musicians, the VYOA provides instrumental instruction through its Lesson Program and afterschool program, Music Inspires. Our Rug Concert series and Music Together classes provide an opportunity for families with very young children to foster their love of music together.

All programs are based at the Elley-Long Music Center at St. Michael’s College. The Elley-Long Music Center is the former Cavalry Riding or Drill Hall located at Fort Ethan Allen and was renovated by the VYOA between 1999 and 2001. This beautiful building is the home of the VYOA and the primary rehearsal and concert venue for many performing arts organizations.
