About Our Auction
Every two years researchers and resource managers gather to report on their work on the ecology, management, and conservation of birds in Alaska. It is a valuable opportunity to present findings, identify emerging issues, and network with others doing work with birds across Alaska. This fundraiser will benefit student scholarships, awards and travel costs to make this conference accessible so students can attend.
About Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies
The Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies is situated on the shores of Kachemak Bay, a coastal estuary teeming with wildlife. With more than 320 miles of shoreline, this coastal inlet contains every marine ecosystem found in the Gulf of Alaska.
The diversity of intact ecosystems in a relatively small area make this inlet an ideal hub for coastal education and research.
Since 1982, the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies has been delivering hands-on environmental education programs designed to encourage participants to explore, connect with, and protect their natural environments. We see firsthand the impact these programs have on our participants’ educations and futures. Because we are an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization, we are completely dependent on philanthropic gifts from alumni, parents, staff, friends, foundations, and corporations to supplement enrollment revenues and make exploring with us a possibility for a broader range of students. Your gift today could change a student's life.
