About Our Auction
SHAID Tree Animal Shelter is very excited about our 2nd annual online auction and would like to start off by thanking the many bushiness and local small businesses for all the kind and thoughtful donations that were provided for our first online auction; we were able to bring in over $3,000!
Our mandate is to relieve the suffering of animals by providing temporary care and shelter to helpless, abandoned, homeless or unwanted animals in distress. We place as many pets as possible into responsible and caring homes. We also strive to educate the public in responsible pet ownership and promote the spaying and neutering of pets. Being a non-profit shelter we are only able to accomplish this with funds raised through our fundraisers and donations through the community.
In 2023, we took in 492 cats and kittens and 32 dogs. All animals are vet-checked, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, treated for worms, fleas, and other parasites, and microchipped. Cats are tested for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. One of our biggest annual expenses is veterinary services and supplies. In 2023, 499 surgeries took place– mostly for spays and neuters, but also for other life-saving emergency surgeries, and our medical expenses surpassed $115,000!
