About Our Auction
We curate events in idle spaces around NYC, where we get one day to transform them into working artistic hubs and real works of art. This year's event is momentous because of its location. 482 is an art show and auction organized in honor of our late Grandfather William R. Howard, and his efforts to maintain Brooklyn's African diasporic culture. It will be held in his Ditmas Park home before it is sold some time this year. The premier event we will be facilitated by our founder, Artschoolscammer, and showcase the work of 15 artists from NYC to LA, from Bony McQueen, Jet Carter, to Makeba Rainy and Nandi Loaf.
About #Dayones
#DayOnes is a Pop-Up Art Happening streamlined to benefit emerging artists and community outreach. This event is a cooperative experience and partnership of B(A)LM and #DayonesArt.
#Dayones is curated in secret idle spaces around the city facilitated by The Howard Group. Before these buildings are transformed into affordable housing - we are given a day to transform them into working artistic hubs and true works of art. Further allowing the community to interact with these once uninhabitable spaces.
The sole purpose of #DayOnes is to promote and support independent artist coming out of urban meccas. The event show cases work from premier muralist from around the city. #Dayones encourages the sales of affordable art without gallery representation through silent auctions.
