The Talyllyn Railway is an internationally signicficant heritage steam railway in Tywyn South Gwynedd. Oringally built to carry slate, it is now an importnat element of the UNESCO world heritage site for the slate landscape of Northwest Wales. In 1951 it became the first preserved narrow gauge railway in the world.
