About Art Division
Art Division is a non-profit arts program founded by Dan McCleary in 2010, dedicated to training and serving under-served young adults ages 18 to 27 in Los Angeles. Since its inception, over 500 students have attended our yearly art classes, workshops, and field trips. We offer two semesters of art classes including beginning and advanced drawing, painting, printmaking, filmmaking, and specialized workshops in photography and writing. Established artists from the community visit Art Division to give talks and teach classes. Students excel through the vocational training initiatives we offer, which include college and career counseling and job placement. The goal is to prepare our students for a variety of possible employment opportunities. Art Division believes that by nurturing the whole individual, we provide each student with the best chance of succeeding in their chosen career. Art Division seeks to establish a dedicated corps of students, instructors, artists, donors, and community members united with a common goal: to foster a creative community in the heart of the MacArthur Park neighborhood.
