Thank you all for your generous support of FAAS!!
The Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) is delighted to announce that our signature fundraiser, After the Ball, will be held, once again, at the historic Alameda Elks Lodge ballroom on Friday, October 18, 2024.
Our online silent auction will kick things off one week earlier on Friday, October 11, 2024, and will give thousands of FAAS supporters a chance to place bids and honor the businesses and donors who help us achieve our mission.
The funds raised will help FAAS – a nonprofit organization – shelter and care for the 1,000+ animals that come through our doors each year and eventually return them to their worried owners or find them loving forever homes.
Thanks to the support of generous friends like you, FAAS has saved more than 10,000 pets since its inception and has never had to euthanize for time or space. This gives our shelter residents the precious gift of time to recover from illness or injury, learn to trust again and find their forever home, no matter how long it takes. About Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter
The Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) has provided shelter, medical care and support services for thousands of companion animals and the people who love them since it was founded in 2009. Through a unique public-private partnership, FAAS has managed the City of Alameda's open in-take Animal Shelter since 2012. With innovative programs, community partnerships, and a passionate base of volunteers and donors, FAAS saves an average 97% of the 1,000+ lost, abandoned and homeless animals who enter the city's shelter each year. FAAS also operates an adoption center (home of the Cat Experience!) at South Shore Shopping Center, and the Thrifty Kitty, a boutique thrift store on Webster Street. Currently under construction, the FAAS Animal Medical Services & Training Campus on Harbor Bay will provide critically needed access to care for shelter animals, rescue groups and the public.
