About Our Auction

The Bolton School Ball 2018 brings together parents, staff, friends and alumni of Bolton School. Alongside this event we are holding an online silent auction. All funds raised will be split between the Bolton School Bursary Fund and development projects in school, run by the Senior School Parents’ Associations, including the refurbishment of the Girls’ Division theatre.

Lord Leverhulme created the Bolton School Foundation to give the most talented children in the Bolton area the opportunity to realise their potential through an outstanding education, irrespective of their financial means. His vision has meant that over the last century, thousands of pupils from all backgrounds have been able to benefit from a Bolton School education. When government support ceased, in 1997, we remained committed to this ethos and built our own Bursary Fund. Thanks to our supporters, we are now able to help one in every five of our pupils, which makes us one of the most generous bursary schools in the UK. However, for every bursary place awarded, one other child, who has proved their potential in the entrance assessments and would flourish here, has to be turned away. Our vision for the future is to be the school that any talented child in Bolton can come to, regardless of their parents’ ability to pay the fees.

About Bolton School Senior Parents' Associations

The Parents' Associations work hard to encourage closer links between home and school. Being involved helps parents gain an insight into the ethos of the school and to become involved in the life of the school. Events and initiatives also help to provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to work together and to raise funds for those extras which enhance school life for all pupils.
