About Community Cat Network of Cincinnati

Established in 2022, CCN is dedicated to aiding sick and injured community (non-owned) cats within the greater Cincinnati area, and empowering and educating the community about how they can help cats in their neighborhoods. Our goal is to help provide aid for essential medical and other care to Cincinnati’s community cats through collaboration with community members and colony caretakers.

A very special feral kitty named Minka was the impetus for the establishment of CCN. This beautiful, already fixed community cat was being fed by a kind Norwood resident who reached out for help in the fall of 2021, when Minka showed up with cruel leg-hold trap attached to her right front leg. When Minka was rescued, her leg had to be amputated, and people rallied to donate toward her medical care, which cost approximately $1,000. Minka’s rescue and care were made possible because those involved have connections in the local rescue community. Many people who care for community cats want to help those in need, but don’t have the resources or know where to turn when faced with a situation such as Minka's. Our hope is to assist, when possible, with injured/ill community cats like her.
