Online Raffle & Art Auction

Thank you for your interest in CHOSA's Online Raffle & Art Auction! We hope you enjoy taking a look at the beautiful hand-crafted items available to bid on. Each piece of art and clothing was painted and designed by mothers from Philani, a project with which CHOSA has been partnering for years. When you bid, you are empowering women as they lift their families out of poverty.

All proceeds from this auction will go toward our partner communities and projects in South Africa as they provide loving homes, nutritious meals, and educational opportunities for Cape Town's most vulnerable children.

CHOSA's mission is to identify and support communities and community based organizations (CBOs) that reach out and take care of orphans and other vulnerable children in South Africa. Our work includes awarding one-time and monthly grants to grassroots projects such as children's homes (orphanages), pre-schools, and youth empowerment programs, as well as capacity-building services and networking opportunities to the community leaders of those projects. We also coordinate after-school programs to provide educational enrichment for the children.

CHOSA takes a holistic and non-directive approach to community development which helps empower other marginalized people in these communities. Moreover, through community participation and ownership of the development process, CHOSA promotes local action, self-empowerment, and peer-to-peer networking as essential strategies for community-driven development. CHOSA recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary, and your support enables us to continue to serve our partner communities with excellence.
