About Our Auction

A large collection of high quality woodworking hand tools donated to the College of the Redwoods Fine Woodworking Program. All proceeds to benefit the woodworking program.

All tools are in fair to good to excellent condition, mostly. All tools are fully functional, although some have some minor dents and dings as a result of improper shipping & handling. They have all been used, but lightly.

We used the following terms to describe the condition of each.

Fair: Functional, but with flaws such as broken parts or more serious flaws...larger dents..

Good: Functional, but with minor dents or dings, or scratches present. Many tools were 'like new' but suffered in shipping to us, acquiring small dents or scratches, and thus were considered 'good' instead of excellent.

Excellent: Functional and without any damage. Often 'like new' condition for the newer tools and for the vintage ones.

About The Krenov School

The Krenov School at Mendocino College offers a nine-month program in cabinetry and furniture making with Laura Mays, Jim Budlong, Greg Smith, Ejler Hjorth-Westh and Todd Sorenson. In addition, workshops lasting a few days or weeks are offered in the summer. All of our courses are designed for the aspiring cabinetmaker who hopes to combine sensitivity with personal expression, patiently striving toward a goal best described as fine craftsmanship. We view craftsmanship as our legacy from woodworkers who have striven toward consistent excellence, which is perhaps the best definition of the word quality. Our efforts toward this goal have been recognized by the woodworking community around the world.
