About Our Auction
In anticipation of moving house in early 2025 we are reducing numbers so including some birds we would otherwise keep.
We have decided to run one larger auction rather than several small ones to hopefully make it easier for buyers organising freight etc.
Birds include some older proven birds as well as some late 2023/early 2024 bred birds. Some 2021 bred hens are included but these are all very late 2021 bred and used for the first time in 2023. There are some particularly strong Spangles included as they are starting to take over the aviary. We also have a number of young White Caps and Blues from a prolific pair of White Caps. We have kept a handful of the better ones but some had to go!
Unfortunately waiting for all birds to be in top condition at the same time has been problematic so some are still missing feathers etc. Some of the younger ones are still in their ratty stage and nowhere near fully developed so we hope you can see what these birds will become given a little extra time. A couple even dropped tails whilst in the show cage being photographed! Notes have been added to descriptions of individual birds where necessary to outline their condition to the best of our knowledge.
About DAM Budgerigars
We are located in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne and have been breeding exhibition budgerigars since 2014.
Our stud was initially based on Armstrong and Tonkin birds but we have selectively used birds from other respected breeders such as Ces Gearing, Thurn, Gazzard, Rowe, Barnett and Appleton to introduce and improve required features.
Due to work and sporting commitments showing our birds has always been difficult but we take great pride in breeding and improving them.
