Dawson Elementary School 2023 Spring Auction

Dawson Elementary is a diverse, title I school located in the heart of South Austin. Dawson is committed to inspirational excellence, high achievement, inclusive special education, and offering two-way dual-language Spanish programing.

Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, nurturing learning environment where all students feel valued and supported. We embrace diversity and promote equity to ensure every student has access to high-quality education.

Our annual spring silent auction is an online fundraiser to raise funds that support the school. Proceeds from this event will directly support educational programs not paid for by the district including math and science enrichment, individual teacher grants to support classroom purchases, field trip funds, and more.

Nuestra subasta silenciosa anual de primavera es una recaudación de fondos en línea para recaudar fondos que apoyen a la escuela. What does the Dawson PTA do?

We support Dawson teachers as they work to provide our children with a well-rounded education:

We sponsor a grant program that provides $200+ worth of classroom and special project materials to Dawson teachers. This year our students and teachers benefitted from over $5,000 in funds towards materials, field trips, and special projects for students in the classroom.

We organize volunteer-power for classroom help, field trips and special events such as Field Day, Career Day, School Dances, Family Nights, adn this year we are supporting teh 1st annual Art Walk.

We support the Dawson community:

We sponsor fun events that allow us to be together as a community while also raising money for our school.

We provide financial support for projects to beautify and modernize our campus including working alongside the Grounds Committee to plant new and revitalize existing flowerbeds and garden spaces across the campus. This past year we planted over 100 native flowers and plants and revitalized the pond habitat with cleaning it out, installing a waterfall feature, introducing minnows and pond plants as well as got a new fence installed around the pond.

We facilitate partnerships and donations from neighborhood businesses that benefit Dawson students and families as well as the broader community.
