Sled Hockey Community Event Auction

Equipment Loans of the Keweenaw is holding this auction to raise funds to purchase a racing chair roller for a local high schooler to use while practicing with the high school track team when the weather is snowy or rainy this spring. Without a roller, this young woman will have to sit on the sideline while her teammates practice. Any money we raise over our goal, will be used to support our Nordic Ski Team.

Our mission is to provide access to appropriate equipment, opportunities to participate in adaptive sports and to create a community for adaptive athletes. We believe in a world where athletes with physical disabilities are included in school sports, community sporting events and able to participate in sports and recreational activities with family and friends. Adaptive sports improves the physical health and mental health . It increases a person's sense of belonging and inclusion. Adaptive sports changes lives and changes the attitudes of athletes' parents and community members.
Currently, ELK has programming for sled hockey, nordic sit skiing, parent/child swim class, track and field, hand cycling, tennis, and pickle ball. We support local athletes in the activities that they want to participate in.
Equipment Loans of the Keweenaw also has durable medical equipment that we loan to the community.
