Medical Aid for Gaza

More than 10 children every day have had limbs amputated since the hostilities began in Gaza 3 months ago according to the aid organization Save The Children. Many of these operations, on over a thousand children, were done without anesthesia. This is just one aspect of a desperate need for emergency medical personnel and materials now being experienced in Gaza. The 2 organizations the auction is raising funds for, The Palestine Children's Relief Fund and Medical Aid for Palestinians, have a proven track record of getting medical professionals and aid where it is needed. The Hardwick Peace Vigil Committee is sponsoring this auction with the assistance of our greater Hardwick community, to raise funds for the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (pcrf.net) and Medical Aid for Palestinians (map.org.uk), two organizations that are succeeding in getting medical aid to some of the 1.7 million Palestinians who have had to flee their homes, many of which have been completely destroyed. 600,000 of these refugees are infants and children who are at great risk of acute starvation and disease. The funds raised by this auction will go towards sending doctors, nurses and medical supplies to those most in need.
