Welcome Spring 2024

As a registered charity, we receive no government funding and rely on donations and our auctions to bridge the gap between adoption fees and medical bills. In the first two months of 2024 alone, we have incurred vet bills of approximately $61,000, which includes extensive medical bills for three young cats with serious health complications, five moms and their babies (so far!), and at least 20 senior & palliative cats. We have four senior cats all requiring dental care, in addition to the numerous kittens recently born that will require full vetting, including spays/neuters. And the busiest time of the year (kitten season) is just starting! Year-to-date, we have had 119 adoptions, which equals $32,725 in adoption fees. Funds raised from our Welcome Spring 2024 Auction will help bridge this financing and help us build a reserve for all the medical bills kitten season will bring. Our auction will run from March 24 – April 2, 2024.

Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a GTHA based cat rescue. We are a registered Canadian Charity that is 100% volunteer-driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.
