Le Masquerade 2024 - 70th Anniversary

Honolulu Theatre for Youth is celebrating 70 years of serving Hawaiʻiʻs young people and families through producing professional theatre and innovative drama education programs.

Over the years, HTY has commissioned and premiered more than three hundred new works for the stage, produced an Emmy® award-winning television series, and was the recipient of the Childrenʻs Theatre Foundation of Americaʻs Orlin Corey Medallion, the highest honor in the field, in 2022. Last year, HTY Teaching Artists led 1,977 sessions in classrooms on O’ahu, Maui, and Hawai’i Island.

Honolulu Theatre for Youth (HTY) is a theatre of place, deeply rooted in the cultures and people of the Pacific and dedicated to serving young people, families and educators across the Hawaiian Islands. Founded in 1955, HTY is one of the oldest professional TYA companies in the country and is recognized for its long history of innovative drama education programming and the creation of original theatrical works that celebrate the diverse cultures of Hawaiʻi.
