Hardwicke RBL Fundraising Auction

This auction of experiences is one of our fundraising initiatives to help raise money for our local Hardwicke branch of The Royal British Legion.

We have committed to doing the 100Km Van Leper walk in 3 days (9-11 May) and will be part of a wider team of veterans going from Gloucester to take part which also includes our RBL branch Chairman David Gargett. We are covering all costs to participate ourselves, so 100% of anything raised via this auction will go directly to the Hardwicke & District Branch of The Royal British Legion to help veterans right on our doorstep. Our overall goal is to raise £2000, it is hoped that this auction of experiences raises £600.

* At local level the branch assists with the following:
Provide social, welfare and mental support to all members of the British Armed Forces in the community.

* Host monthly lunches and ‘socials’ for older veterans in Gloucester to ensure they eat a hot meal, form friendships and are not isolated to help with mental wellbeing. Provide social visits to local care homes where veterans are living.

* Quick release funds for specific items to veterans in our community that have fallen on hard times.

* Provide welfare packs/treats at Christmas to veterans in local care homes.

* The Branch will work with a third party to identify and provide welfare packs at Christmas to homeless veterans in Gloucester.

* They want to buy a Ceremonial flagpole for Hardwicke & District Branch of The Royal British Legion to use at veteran funerals, Remembrance, and other ceremonial services or commemorations.
