About Our Auction
We have been collecting applications for our next round of funding in January and the organisations across Lamu have delivered!
We have some really exciting project applications coming in including...
️ Sustainable fishing training and gear swaps
️ Beekeeping to protect mangrove forests
️ Permaculture training to regenerate land and provide alternative livelihoods
Plus many more...
The quality of these projects is so high that we would love to be able to fund them all, however, our coffers won’t currently allow for that...
So, to try and plug some of the gaps, we’re holding this Silent Auction to raise funds to support as many of these worthy projects as possible!
About Lamu Environment Foundation
Supporting local environmental and conservation initiatives to protect, preserve and restore the natural beauty of Lamu Archipelago for generations to come.
The Lamu Environment Fund (LEF) was founded to conserve the natural beauty of the Lamu archipelago. We raise funds from individuals and businesses who care passionately about Lamu to support local organisations that focus on protecting, preserving and restoring the archipelago.
Lamu is an exciting combination of beautiful natural landscapes, diverse flora and fauna and spectacular marine ecosystems. These diverse habitats all require protection, preservation and restoration to bring about long-lasting sustainable change.
All funds raised go towards supporting environmental projects in Lamu Archipelago. We believe that by supporting local conservation groups we can bring about long-lasting positive environmental change.
We focus on all aspects of conservation, including protecting Lamu Archipelago’s diverse marine environments and its unique species, protecting the vital mangrove coverage across the area, enabling proper waste management and recycling and many more. We aim to support projects that are not only beneficial to the community but will also offer the opportunity to bring economic and social benefits to the community too.
