About San Francisco Public Golf Alliance
San Francisco Public Golf Alliance is a non-profit, 501.c.3 public benefit corporation, whose members are mostly public golfers in the Bay Area and Northern California. Its purpose is to advocate and encourage and defend affordable, eco-friendly public golf and the public courses, with particular care for our heritage public courses, including Sharp Park Golf Course, a San Francisco municipal course located in the City’s seaside suburb of Pacifica, CA.
Sharp Park is a beautiful and historic seaside links, opened in 1932, designed by Alister MacKenzie, the architect of Augusta National (home of the Masters Tournament), Cypress Point, and many of the world’s most highly esteemed courses. Sharp Park is one of MacKenzie’s rare public links, and his only seaside public links outside of St. Andrews, Scotland.
