Prefer to bid in person? No problem! Come visit the AWLA tent at Paws in the Park on October 13th and place your bids there!

Starting in 1946, the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA) has stood as a valuable asset to our local community, serving both as a refuge for animals and a resource for people. Through various initiatives like adoptions, spaying and neutering assistance, educational efforts, community engagement, and outreach programs, the AWLA plays a pivotal role in advocating for responsible pet ownership across Northern Virginia. Collaborating with the City of Alexandria since 1989, the AWLA has been dedicated to offering animal care, control, protection, and sheltering services. The heart of our operations lies within the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter, which welcomes all animals from our jurisdiction and operates on an open-admission policy.
