Today, with your participation, Rochester Education Foundation provides literacy support, music and arts for all, community-building at schools, creative science learning experiences, and critical college access support to Rochester city students.

We believe that every student deserves to have new books of their own and to learn from and be inspired by the stories they are reading. They deserve to be swept away by the beauty and excitement of music and arts and be able to play an instrument if they wish. The Smile Program is intended to help Rochester’s elementary school students enjoy their day in school and have fun while learning, and give them plenty of reasons to smile. City students deserve to have unlimited pathways to choose from for their future including access to college. Since 2005, REF has been working to fulfill our mission to provide programs and resources to improve learning and success for Rochester city students.
