RJAH Ludlow Branch League of Friends Auction

Sadly due to covid, our annual Christmas Fair at Ludlow Race Course will not be taking place. Last year the Ludlow branch raised over £20,000 for the League of Friends. However welcome to our online auction! which will run from 10th - 30th November.

We are extremely grateful to all our generous donors without whom we would not be able to run this event. There are links to some of the donors websites on their auction lot pages.

The auction will raise funds towards the purchase of a Myoelectric Elbow Brace which aids the rehabilitation of upper limb function in those paralysed through stroke, spinal cord or peripheral nerve injury. Patients with paralysis need intensive practice using the effected limb to develop new neural pathways and reduce scrambled or confused re-innervation. This highly innovative technology comes with a left and a right sided device. It is strapped to the arm and records low level electrical activity in the muscles to control movement. From the user's perspective, movement control is achieved 'by thought'.

The League of Friends support RJAH by giving financial support for equipment, amenities and research, recruiting volunteers to support patients and fostering the interest of the public in the work of the hospital.

The League of Friends to The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (Registered Charity No. 249346) was set up in 1961. Since that time the group has raised over £20 million for the benefit of the hospital.
