About Our Auction

Welcome to our Online Second Chance Cheekye Ranch Silent Auction: a way to shop local while donating towards the care and feed of our rescue horses over the winter.

What happens during the auction?

Anyone who would like to bid needs to create an account by adding your name, email & making a password. You will be able to bid on the items until 8PM on December 12th. Each item will have a minimum bid indicated (the starting bid has to be at least this amount) and a minimum bid increment (each new bid has to be at least this amount higher than the last bid). If you bid the Buy Now price, you automatically win the item.

At 8PM, on December 12th all items will be marked as sold and 32 Auctions will send the winning bidder a notification which contains a link to the invoice page. Invoices display the items won, the winning bid amounts, the total amount due.

The winning bidder must send an e-transfer to klatham@telus.net within 24 hours of the auction closing. Please include the word AUCTION in the notes of the e-transfer along with the item you won. Community member who are volunteers at the rescue have the option to pay in cash.

Once the e-transfer is received, email Gina.a.frank@gmail.com to pick up the item(s).

About Second Chance Cheekye Ranch

Second Chance Cheekye Ranch (SCCR) was established in 2016 by Kris Latham. With the help of a passionate group of animal loving volunteers, SCCR aims to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome horses in need. More than 25,000 horses are slaughtered in Canada annually with most of the meat being exported for human consumption. We aim to save as many as we can from that fate. Most horses that are rescued by SCCR are untouched by humans and can be quite wild. Most do not know what a carrot tastes like, and often come to us with health issues. A great deal of time is spent interacting and gaining the horses trust. Our initial primary goal for these often scared and neglected animals, is to make them feel comfortable enough to get halters on so they can be groomed, have their health checked by our veterinarian, and feet assessed by our farrier.
