About SOUTH JERSEY LAND & WATER TRUST
2,327 ACRES OF OPEN SPACE PRESERVED SINCE OUR INCEPTION TO PROTECT HABITAT & COMBAT GLOBAL WARMING!
As a charitable nonprofit environmental organization whose mission is the care and preservation of southern New Jersey's natural and agricultural heritage, South Jersey Land & Water Trust works in four major areas; Land Conservation, Water Protection, Environmental Education, and Advocacy. Our programs are dependent upon the support of people like you who care about the wildlife and wild places of our special region.
We are focused on:
COMBATING GLOBAL WARMING: We are committed to the preservation and expansion of forests and vegetation as key to absorbing and storing carbon.
STEWARDSHIP: We care for fragile habitats that support the living natural world through management of our preserves, and by assisting other landowners in the care of their properties.
EDUCATION: We provide environmental education programs to communities and schools to encourage support and care for South Jersey's unique ecology.
VISION: SJLWT’s vision is to retain the integrity and uniqueness of our South Jersey natural areas for our children and for all generations to come.
LEADERSHIP: SJLWT works to inspire action and commitment by the next generation of environmental stewards through volunteerism, internships, and youth programs.
Since the SJLWT began, we've preserved hundreds of acres of land, cleaned up local natural habitats, installed rain gardens, and more.
