About Our Auction
Celebrate Earth Day with Spiral Living Center! Our focus since 2006, has been to promote sustainable living skills to build confidence and empower our community in the Illinois Valley. We dream of being able to increase our program impacts across Southern Oregon to better support our neighbors on their path to self-sufficiency and connection.
There is no better time than Earth Day/Month, to honor and celebrate the meaningful work we are committed to! One of the most valuable experiences for us has been the journey of finding right relationship with the EARTH that we are inextricably woven. We are passionate about being homesteaders and stewards of Southern Oregon, and sharing knowledge specific to this area. Some of our educational focuses include herbalism, wildcrafting, natural building, food forests, permaculture, animal husbandry, tree grafting, gardening, off-grid power systems, and more.
Our current programs include The IV Gleaning Project, Resource Libraries at Frog Farm, and our BRAND NEW Earth Scouts! inclusive outdoor school for teens & adults. Currently we need to raise funds to hire Earth Scouts teachers and a Program Coordinator, along with purchasing new curriculum materials like books and tools. Your auction donations will directly contribute to helping us expand these programs in 2021. Thank you!!
About Spiral Living Center & KXCJLP
Spiral Living Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has served the Illinois Valley of Southern Oregon since 2006. Our mission is to promote sustainable living skills by offering resources for our community to become more self-sufficient. We have developed and currently maintain a wide spectrum of community-reliance programs including the IV Gleaning Project, IV Bikespace, Resource Libraries, and our NEW Earth Scouts! Program. We also organize and execute hands-on educational events and large scale gatherings.
KXCJ is an FCC-licensed, volunteer-run, community-based FM radio station serving the city of Cave Junction, Oregon, and the surrounding Illinois River Valley. We provide listeners with a valuable source for news and information that addresses both local and regional interests. We also provide and produce music and other cultural programming that does not duplicate what is already available on the local airwaves. We train local people-- especially youth and elders-- to produce their own ongoing radio shows. We seek to increase the cultural and economic vitality of the Illinois Valley. www.kxcj.org.
