About Our Auction

Please help us, help our young people, find a life worth living. All auction funds raised will go directly towards running our Journey Back To Awesome (JBA) programme. Our JBA programme is aimed at helping young people in finding and strengthening their own resources, towards leading full and meaningful lives.

We understand a one-size-fits all approach to mental health does not work. Most of our young people do not fare well with only a few counselling sessions. Each and every one of our young clients comes with their unique set of circumstances: their fears, pains, expectations, hopes, abilities, and disappointments.

Our aim is to fund and deliver wrap-around support to every client on their journey to seeing that their life is worth living. So no young person in our community has to reach the point of crisis, and even more tragically, die by suicide through the lack of help, or financial difficulties. Simply put … we don’t want money to be a barrier to a young person getting the support they need, when they need it.

Please help us raise some much needed funds.

About Youth In Transition Charitable Trust

Youth in Transition (YIT) is a community based mental health organisation with a focus on youth suicide prevention. Founded in 2014 in response to the tragically high number of young people dying by suicide. YIT’s founders developed a uniquely holistic Journey Back To Awesome (JBA) programme, which is aimed at helping young people live a rich, full, and meaningful life.

The JBA programme is based on experience gained by dealing with at risk youth aged between 10-24 years. It provides a transition pathway for young people who are dealing with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and suicidal thinking by incorporating counselling, mentoring, peer support groups, family support, and lifestyle education. Our mission is to support any client who comes to YIT, regardless of their financial situation. Our JBA programme is delivered in partnership with collaborating agencies and organisations in the community.

YIT operates as a registered charity. We have helped over 800 young people from the Hibiscus Coast/North Shore/Albany/Rodney areas, who have either self-referred or been referred through NZ Police, Victim Support, GPs, Mental Health Services, and other community agencies. Together with their friends and families we have positively impacted the lives of over 8,500 people within our community.
