About Our Auction
To help add mystery and intrigue to the Inaugural "The Story Behind The Mask" Masquerade Ball in support of the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay, we invite you to choose one of our amazing, hand-crafted and painted papier-mâché masks created by Venetian artisans and imported especially for this event.
Originally, the Venetian mask was adorned by members of all socioeconomic classes to conceal identity. This was necessary since most legal and moral boundaries were blurred during this period, and so were the Venetian Republic's rules regarding upper and lower social classes intermingling.
At the Inaugural "The Story Behind The Mask" Masquerade Ball in support of the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay, we invite you to choose a mask to celebrate and raise funds to aid those living with Alzheimer's disease.
