Advancing women in transportation is key to advancing transportation and ensuring a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workforce. With over 9,000 members, including both women and men WTS is turning the glass ceiling into a career and actively collaborates with its transportation community that includes corporations, public agencies, associations, and learning institutions

The Pittsburgh Chapter continues to focus on bringing the same dynamic opportunities and experience as WTS International. We are proud to say that our Chapter has grown over the last 9 years to include 135 members, 25 corporate sponsors and 2 public agency partners.

WTS attracts, sustains, connects and advances women's careers to strengthen the transportation industry. Our vision is equity and access for women in transportation and the WTS spirit of community, inclusiveness, and mutual support is one of our greatest assets.

Each year since inception, the WTS Pittsburgh Chapter offers annual scholarships for women pursuing undergraduate and graduate studies in transportation or related fields. Through the past success of the program, WTS Pittsburgh will be able to honor three recipients, each with a $2,500 scholarship for 2022. The recipients of the 2022 WTS Pittsburgh scholarships will be honored at our fifth annual WTS Pittsburgh Scholarship Gala.

Included in the festivities for the Scholarship Gala will be a silent auction, which will support our scholarship programs. In past years, this in-person silent auction has been a huge success raising over $3,000 for future WTS scholarships.

This year, we wanted to try something new with the online auction! Take a look through the items and you'll see that most of the items will be transferred to the live auction on March 24th. Bidding will start online and continue at the live event! However, there are a couple items that WTS has selected to remain as ONLINE ONLY, so get your phones or your keypad and mouse ready to outbid your colleagues and take home the PRIZE!

Finally, we put out a couple teaser items that will be LIVE EVENT ONLY - so if you haven't signed up for the Gala yet, get your ticket and bring your wallet!

The 5th Annual WTS Pittsburgh Scholarship Gala will be held on Thursday, March 24th, 2022 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Sheraton Station Square.

The evening begins with a cocktail reception and Silent Auction at 6pm, followed by a plated dinner, presentation of scholarships, and featured speaker Christina Cassotis, CEO of the Allegheny County Airport Authority.

As in previous years, payment for auction winners can be handled at the live auction via cash, check or credit card.
