About Our Auction
This auction starts at 5 p.m. Monday, December 2nd, and runs through 7 p.m. Sunday, December 8th, 2024.
Be on the lookout in Winchester to see some of these items in person!
Designed and created by some of our own Winton Club members, our tabletop Winter Trees and Wreaths collection ranges from whimsical to practical and is sure to make a great gift or add a festive touch to any décor!
A tradition that came about during the 2020/2021 pandemic is now continuing for a fifth year! Each year the Winton Club chooses a Hospital project and earmarks funds for a project or program to benefit the Winchester Hospital community. For this auction we have chosen to donate towards two initiatives:
- A Caring Place at the Winchester Center for Cancer Care. The beneficiaries will include chemotherapy patients using the Paxman Scalp Cooling Caps Program. The Paxman program will help patients retain their hair while undergoing chemotherapy. Access to this program in Winchester will be immeasurable for patients, avoiding commuting to Boston to participate in another hospital's program.
- The Familiy Literacy Program. The Winton Club has taken this program over from The Friends of Winchester Hospital after they disbanded. This program provides a book to every baby born at Winchester Hospital.
The Winton Club is a non-profit women's service organization exclusively supporting Winchester Hospital in service and fundraising activities. www.wintonclub.org
About The Winton Club
The Winton Club was started in 1911 by 12 women who wanted to
make a difference in the community by supporting Winchester
Hospital. Today, it is a diverse women's non-profit organization
committed to fundraising and providing volunteer services for the
benefit of Winchester Hospital.
Starting in 1920 and over 100 years, The Winton
Club's signature fundraising event for the hospital was the annual
Winton Club Cabaret. In 1948 The Winton Club added the Winton Gift
Shop located in the Lobby of The Winchester Hospital, a much-
needed service for patients, visitors and staff, which continues to
operate today. In addition, the Winton Club now holds additional
fundraising events each year, exclusively for Winchester Hospital.
Impact
Through the fundraising efforts of The Winton Club, Winchester
Hospital has received funds of over $4,000,000. These funds have
been used to support women's and children's health care, innovative
patient services, fund equipment purchases and hospital renovations,
and in its early years, provide linens.
Some examples include: The Healing Garden at the Center for Cancer
Care, Paxman Scalp Cooling program, Digital Mammography, Art &
Music Therapies, Home Care Telehealth programs, Outpatient
Lactation Programs, Mother Baby Unit, Surgical Suite, and
Emergency Room renovations, Wireless Fetal Monitors, Patient
