VIRTUAL ART AUCTION

Times are difficult throughout the world perhaps no more so than for the proud Maasai families of Kenya. This virtual art auction is being offered by artist, Lanny Sherwin, and the Sherwin family. All proceeds will exclusively go toward 3 of ASK’s programs.

1. The “Alternative Rite of Passage,” a 2-day workshop taught three times a year designed to educate and protect girls from harmful practices such as female genital mutilation and early marriage.

2. The Health Wagon provides vital healthcare and vaccines.

3. A newly formed Boys College Scholarship Fund (girls already have one!)

Lanny Sherwin and his family are devoted contributors to ASK and the Student Scholarship program. All eight pieces were inspired on a family trip to Kenya. Proceeds are 100% tax-deductible.

ASK’S mission is to enrich Maasai lives with the development and implementation of educational programs while respecting their traditions and cultural way of life.
ASK works in conjunction with the Maasai people located in Kajiado County outside Amboseli National Park in southern Kenya.

ASK facilitates and underwrites the implementation of educational programs, encouraging awareness on leadership and life skills, with an emphasis on education,, women’s rights, healthcare, and cross-cultural diversity.
