The John Mizhir Jr. Scholarship Auction

John was a well-rounded student who enjoyed a diversity of activities and passions both during and after his time at St. Bernard’s High School. The goal of this scholarship fund is to remember John’s life by helping young people enjoy a supportive, well-rounded and academically fulfilling education at St. Bernard’s Central Catholic High School in Fitchburg – John’s alma mater.

Scholarships in John’s name will be awarded to students who demonstrate one or more of the following: commitment to academics, participation in athletics, interest in extra-curricular activities, or involvement in community service. The recipient of the scholarship will be an incoming student at St. Bernard’s who qualifies for financial aid.

The scholarship committee plans to raise $10,000, which will allow for a permanent scholarship of $500 to be granted annually. We are over half way to our target goal with only $4,500 remaining to be raised. This on-line auction, donation drive, and raffle to be held at John's Class' 20th Reunion are all ways to reach this goal. Thanks again for your support!

The John Mizhir Jr. Scholarship Committee is a group St. Bernard alumni from various classes who gathered together to share and exchange laughs and tears in John's memory. From this informal gathering, the idea to form the scholarship grew. The formative years we spent with John at St. Bernard's high school will remain in our minds and in our hearts. To many of us he was a dear friend and classmate who we will never forget. Please join us in honoring John's life and memory by participating in the silent auction on-line, in the raffle at the class of 1990's 20th reunion or by making a direct donation.
