The Beans & Cornbread luncheon, created in 1997, is a kick off for the Interfaith Campaign for the Homeless (ICH) where the proceeds go to local agencies that serve those who are at risk of becoming homeless or who are currently homeless. The ICH receives guidance from the organizations who provide these particular services to those in need. The Annual Beans & Cornbread Luncheon is based on the reality that at times many must sustain on minimal meals such as “beans and cornbread.” The ultimate goal is to raise money to assist agencies who meet the needs of those who are struggling to feed themselves and their families, to keep their homes, or to find safe shelter.
