About Our Auction

The Catskill Ballet Theatre Company is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization providing cultural enrichment within the Hudson Valley through the art of classical ballet. Proceeds from this auction will help fund future ballet productions and provide performance opportunities for our dancers.

Like so many others, the Catskill Ballet Theatre has experienced significant losses as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Most notably, we were forced to cancel three major productions in 2020 and 2021. We were also unable to hold many of our annual fundraisers, which provide a much-needed source of funding for our productions. Through it all, our dedicated students poured themselves into video projects and small outdoor performances, while hoping for an end to this ordeal and a return to the stage.

If conditions are safe, we hope to bring our Nutcracker production back to the stage in 2022. The funds raised from this auction will help cover the cost of costumes, props, lighting, theater rental, and other other expenses associated with a classical performance. Please consider a bid or a donation to help us keep the arts alive in our community. Your support is sincerely appreciated.

About Catskill Ballet Theatre

Established over 40 years ago, the Catskill Ballet Theatre Company is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization providing cultural enrichment within the Hudson Valley through the art of classical ballet. Our mission is to provide classical ballet performances to the residents and visitors to the Hudson Valley, while offering opportunities to local dancers to be part of professional productions. We are perhaps best known for our Nutcracker ballet, which we have performed at UPAC for 37 years. In addition to The Nutcracker, our repertoire also includes Alice in Wonderland, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Dracula and The Snow Queen. In all of our productions, young dancers are given opportunities to work with professionals to learn about the world of classical ballet and performing. We strive to provide motivation, training, and encouragement for those who wish to continue in the art of ballet as a profession.

The Catskill Ballet Theatre Company is also committed to reaching a broad and diverse audience. Each of our productions includes a performance exclusively for schools, enabling area students to attend at greatly reduced prices. Through our Ballet Friends program, we partner with community organizations to provide tickets to children and families who would not otherwise be able to afford a classical performance. Over the years, we have donated hundreds of tickets to local organizations such as the Kingston Boys and Girls Club, the YWCA, the Children's Home of Kingston, Family of Woodstock, Christmas Wishes of Ulster County, First Step Program of Health Alliance, and Adaptive Dance of Kingston.

Your support of the Catskill Ballet Theatre Company will make the art of ballet and our performances accessible to the community and support the development of local talent.
