About Our Auction
BE GENEROUS IN YOUR BIDS - ALL PROCEEDS GO TO CHÁVEZ ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!
The Chávez PTO is a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization with a goal of successful education of our students by enhancing communication between home and school; supporting and supplementing the needs of teachers and staff; helping to meet the expectations of and overcome any challenges for the students, teachers, families, and the entire Chávez community.
We accomplish these goals through fundraising and our primary fundraising effort for this year is a Fun Fair. This event will take place on March 7, 2020 and will include games for children of all ages, food, a variety of activities and entertainment, an online auction beginning February 28, 2020 that transitions to an auction event at the Fun Fair, and a prize room. It will be an opportunity to bring our families together and celebrate as a community!
ALL BIDS MUST BE PLACED ONLINE!! Although items will be on display at the Fun Fair, there will be no paper bidding and you will still need to sit down at a computer or use your smartphone to place your bids there.
PLEASE PATRONIZE AND THANK THE BUSINESSES WHO SO GENEROUSLY DONATED TO OUR FUN FAIR & ONLINE AUCTION!
YOU HAVE AN OPTION OF PLACING A *REGULAR BID* OR *PROXY BID* (see proxy bid below).
A proxy bid is when you place a bid for the maximum amount you are willing to spend, then let the system bid for you up to that amount. For example, if an item is currently selling for $10 and you enter a proxy bid of $20, the system will automatically bid for you until the selling price goes over $20. At that point, you will be outbid and someone else will be the leading bidder. A proxy bid is a single bid and only shows up in the bid history one time. The bid history always shows the highest amount the system has bid for the proxy bid. This may look odd in the bid history when multiple bids have been entered against a proxy bid.
