About Our Auction

Have you ever wanted to own a piece of Baxter State Park history? In partnership with Baxter State Park, Friends is holding our sixth annual sign auction to make historic Park signs and other special items available to the public. A total of 20 signs are available in the 2022 auction, as well as two other very special items. Friends will donate 50% of the proceeds directly to Baxter State Park, and 50% will support our programs. Bidding will open at 10:00 am on November 7, 2022, and close at 10:00pm on December 8, 2022. If you have questions about an item, please ask them before placing a bid.

The auction is set up to allow both exact bids and proxy bids. A proxy bid will automatically bid on your behalf up to a maximum amount that you specify. A proxy bid may increase your chances of winning an item, because it will enter bids on your behalf much faster than they can be entered by hand. If no bids have been placed on an item yet, the price listed is the minimum bid. Once at least one bid has been placed, the price listed is the current high bid. Please double-check your bids to make sure they are correct before you submit them.

Please note: we have enabled extended bidding again this year to avoid issues with auction sniping. This feature automatically extends the end time of an item by 3 minutes when it receives a bid during the final 3 minutes. This allows bidders to relax during the end of an auction knowing they'll have time to enter a new bid if they're outbid in the final 3 minutes.
