Fine Lines
Fine Lines is a unique fundraising exhibition of artworks inspired or influenced by poetry. More than 40 of Australia’s leading artists have donated an artwork related to a poem or song, including this year’s Archibald Prize winner Nigel Milsom, James Powditch, Locust Jones, Catherine Cassidy, Jason Benjamin, Bronwyn Bancroft, Blak Douglas, Narelle Autio, Luke Cornish, Peter O’Doherty, and James McGrath.
All proceeds go to fund the Sydney Story Factory’s free creative writing programs for marginalised young people. There are no buyer premiums.
All works in the online auction can be viewed at the exhibition Fine Lines, which runs from October 6th to 10th 2015 at Depot II Gallery, 2 Danks Street, Waterloo.
About Sydney Story Factory
The Sydney Story Factory is a not-for-profit creative writing centre for young people in Redfern. It runs a wide range of fun and free creative writing and storytelling programs for marginalised young people aged 7 to 17. Under the guidance of its expert storytelling team, volunteer tutors work with young people one-on-one or in small groups, offering them the personal attention to their writing even the best teachers cannot always provide. The effect can be transformative, helping young people find their voice and returning them to school with the tools and confidence essential for future success.
